Decorate with Houseplants
Houseplants can be an important part of decorating your
home. They can enhance the overall look, clean the air, and
provide focal points. For more information on houseplants,

You can use houseplants for different purposes:
decorating windows, beautifying tabletops, hiding unattractive
walls and enlivening a room. Large plants can also be used as
screens and room dividers.
Windows are logical places for houseplants because they let in
the light that plants need to grow. Whether on shelves, on
windowsills, or in hanging baskets, houseplants provide
beautiful texture and color. You can use plants in windows
instead of using curtains or blinds.
When decorating with plants, you need to be
careful of water damage to your furniture and flooring.
You can place plants directly on floors such as tile but
use trays or "cachepots" for tabletops or flooring
material that can be water-damaged. Cachepots are
decorative pots that hold a plain pot in which a plant is
actually potted. Pebbles are used to prevent the bottom of
the inner pot from staying constantly wet and stopping
root rot.
The containers you use for your houseplants will determine the
look or "theme" of your room, so try to use those that "go
with" the theme you are working with.
Grouping plants together can create a good focal point for
those rooms that don't have a natural focal point like a
fireplace. Use a variety of heights and sizes for the best
result.
